Weapons
Understanding and utilizing weapons is a fundamental part of Martial Arts. In order to effectively defend yourself with or against a weapon, you must comprehend its strengths and weaknesses. Even styles that are typically thought of as empty handed were originally designed to deal with armed assailants and allow implementation of a weapon. For example, Jujitsu evolved among the Samurai.
Students will train with projectile, bludgeoning, edged, and flexible weapons. A large part of our weapons curriculum revolves around the Filipino Martial Arts of Arnis, Eskrima, Kali, and Kombatan. This training develops coordination of hand, eye and feet, sensitivity, speed, power, respect of distance, rhythm, timing, and most importantly flow.
Students train extensively with blades through the Filipino Martial Arts and Indonesian Pencak Silat.
